The Kwaito artist, whose real name is <strong>Thokozani Ndlovu<\/strong>, made the comments after a radio interview in which he detailed the personal and financial fallout of the health crisis.<\/p>\n<p>The 45-year-old from Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, suffered the stroke while performing in Ndwedwe in December 2022. It affected his speech and the left side of his body, forcing him to step away from music and adjust to a different daily reality. Before the stroke, he had built a career in <a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/mr-bully-tour-in-braamfontein-signals-south-african-hip-hops-staying-power\/\">South African Kwaito<\/a> and was known for songs including \u201cResista\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>Radio interview and fundraiser<\/h2>\n<p>On 26 July, L\u2019vovo spoke with presenter <strong>Linda \u201cMr Magic\u201d Sibiya<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/gagasiworld.co.za\"><strong>Gagasi FM<\/strong><\/a>. He said the stroke changed nearly every part of his life, leaving him without the career and financial stability he had previously known. He also said some people he considered friends disappeared when he needed support most, and that speaking publicly has allowed fans to understand the person behind the music and his recovery journey.<\/p>\n<p>After the interview, influencer and content creator <strong>Yenziwe Qiniso Ndimande<\/strong> launched a Facebook fundraiser for the musician. Within days, supporters contributed more than <strong>R280,000<\/strong> toward his medical costs. The response indicated that he remains connected to the public despite an extended absence from regular performances.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Khuzani<\/strong>, a Maskandi star, donated R20,000.<\/li>\n<li><strong>DJ Tira<\/strong> contributed R10,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Treatment and emotional impact<\/h2>\n<p>L\u2019vovo said the donations have given him access to medical specialists and physiotherapy as he works on movement and speech. He described feeling lighter, healthier and more alive after seeing the public response.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t ask for help, but the love has been overwhelming,\u201d he said, adding that every rand and every message has meant a great deal to him. He also said his faith in God has grown stronger during the recovery period, and that he still faces serious challenges but remains hopeful his situation will improve.<\/p>\n<h2>Continued public appearances<\/h2>\n<p>Since the Gagasi FM interview, L\u2019vovo has appeared on <strong>Podcast and Chill with MacG<\/strong> in early August and on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metrofm.co.za\"><strong>Metro FM\u2019s The Touchdown<\/strong><\/a>. Those appearances have allowed him to discuss his recovery and reconnect with audiences who remember his contribution to South African Kwaito.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Kwaito
