The Source Collective<\/strong> will take place at Sognage<\/strong> in Johannesburg<\/a> on 9 October, presenting an audio-visual programme that pairs live electronic music with visual storytelling and production design.<\/p>\n

The event will focus on Afro-house<\/a>, Afro-tech, deep house and melodic electronic music. Performances are structured around custom audio-visual narratives rather than conventional DJ sets, and the line-up has not yet been announced.<\/p>\n

Performance design<\/h2>\n

Organisers said each set will combine music, visuals, lighting and production elements that evolve throughout the performance. Instead of repeated visual loops, the event will use original narratives to create distinct audio-visual environments for each artist.<\/p>\n

Community and partnerships<\/h2>\n

The concept positions music as a way to encourage connection and shared experiences. Organisers said the event aims to build a community around electronic music while offering audiences an experience that goes beyond entertainment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Source Collective began with a simple belief that music has the power to do more than entertain<\/a>. It has the power to move people, connect strangers and create moments that stay with us long after the night is over,\u201d said founder Zach Sher<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWe wanted to push the creative boundaries of electronic music by transforming DJ performances into cinematic audio-visual journeys, while creating an environment where people leave with something they didn\u2019t have before they arrived. What excites me most is welcoming people into this world for the very first time. This inaugural event is only the beginning of a much bigger vision, and we invite everyone to experience where that journey starts.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The project is positioned within Johannesburg\u2019s growing Afro-house and Afro-tech scene, with founders aiming to combine electronic music with storytelling, production design and community engagement. The organisers said The Source Collective is open to partnerships with brands, organisations and creative practitioners whose work aligns with its focus on immersive experiences, innovation, music and community.<\/p>\n

Event details<\/h2>\n

The event will run from 6pm to 1.30am, with food and beverages available at the venue. Additional lifestyle activations, installations and brand collaborations may be announced later.<\/p>\n
