Singles from the project have already appeared on streaming platforms, and the band has a <strong>Pitchfork London<\/strong> booking. Singer, songwriter and instrumentalist <strong>Rae Haas<\/strong> describes the live show as \u201ca professional exorcist on an increasingly larger scale.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>From Cadonia to Perfect House<\/h2>\n<p>Asked what has changed since the band\u2019s first album, MX LONELY said the EP follows a trip to an 1800s schoolhouse converted into an Airbnb in Caledonia, NY. The band misremembered the town as \u201cCadonia,\u201d which became the title of the record.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHONESTLY, thank you for asking! WE GOTTA KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS. Perfect House isssss out this fall. Four years have passed since we all went upstate into an 1800s schoolhouse this guy turned into an Airbnb in Caledonia, NY. We all misremembered the town as \u2018Cadonia\u2019 (title of record), which is not a real place.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Haas also referenced a 1908 English play, <em>The King of Cadonia<\/em>, about a young king and radical political revolutionaries; it ran for 333 performances. \u201c\u2018Cadonia\u2019 went to a haunted house, and \u2018All Monsters\u2019 comes from hell. \u2018Perfect House\u2019 calls from your bedroom closet,\u201d Haas said.<\/p>\n<p>The EP follows the single <strong>All Monsters<\/strong>, which arrived six months earlier. Haas listed <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deftones.com\">Deftones<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pixiesmusic.com\">Pixies<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/smashingpumpkins.com\">Smashing Pumpkins<\/a><\/strong> as core influences: \u201cWe be reheating the \u201990s nachos with different sauces.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Inside \u201cMarch 16th\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Haas said Caitlin spearheaded the track. <strong>\u201cMarch 16th\u201d<\/strong> began as a <strong>Jake Harms<\/strong> voice note, an instrumental automatically titled with the date. \u201cI loved the riff and could only hear the counter-melody parts I eventually added,\u201d Haas said. \u201cIt just needed some love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The song came together when Caitlin arrived to record guitars and harmonies for \u201cEx Rae\u201d on 12\/14\/25. Haas described a heaviness in the room: Caitlin had been up all night with a friend whose younger sister attended Brown, and that friend had been one of the victims.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cEverybody knows somebody who knows somebody. With the genocide in Gaza and violent injustices all around, I think it\u2019s important to really fucking notice things AND personalize them. \u2018We\u2019ve been here before; why do we keep coming back for more?\u2019\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>After a solo on \u201cEx Rae,\u201d Caitlin sang the full melody for \u201cMarch 16th.\u201d Haas compared piecing together the band\u2019s elements to solving a Rubik\u2019s Cube for hours, then watching someone finish it in 15 seconds. \u201cI love songs like lightning,\u201d Haas said. \u201cI like to think of this as the start of Cait and I\u2019s (best?) friendship.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Live sound and the road<\/h2>\n<p>On larger stages, Haas said, \u201cThe bigger the stage, the greater the opportunity to challenge the dogma. It\u2019s an honor to get to be a professional exorcist on an increasingly larger scale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For soundcheck, Haas uses an <strong>xvive<\/strong> in-ear monitor with only vocals to avoid feedback. \u201cWhat\u2019s the point of having stacks if you can\u2019t just relish in the best spot in the room for volume?\u201d Haas said. Gabe and Jake\u2019s feedback through tube amps requires the amps to be cranked, so a quiet MX set is not sonically possible.<\/p>\n<p>Haas said soundcheck reflects the engineer\u2019s taste, and the band\u2019s mix of loud playing and soft harmonies benefits from a sound person who treats the chaos as a challenge. Some engineers embrace that challenge, which Haas said can reach \u201cFifth Beatle territory.\u201d \u201cA good sound person can basically change the entire listening experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked about memorable concert moments, the band said something special happens at every show, and Haas often talks with parents of trans kids, \u201cprobably the most special thing I could ever get to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The band\u2019s live schedule has shaped its songcraft. \u201cThere is a ferocity and speed that we\u2019ve adapted from playing so many live shows. I like to think of the songcraft as ever-shifting,\u201d MX LONELY said. Haas added that the band does not take days off on tour: \u201cWe\u2019re psychotic and don\u2019t take days off on tour. We are either driving or playing a show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the road, Haas said, \u201cYou have to believe that all the microplastics in your body are like army men that protect you from getting sick. When I sleep, I imagine these Army men marching out of my ears back out to the van to protect it from getting broken into.\u201d Favorite gas station items include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DIY Dirty
