Pacific Music Group (PMG), the Hong Kong-based music company focusing on curating Asian talent, has launched PMG Japan. This is PMG’s first official expansion, and it begins with the signing of Japanese hip-hop artist JP THE WAVY.

PMG Japan signed JP THE WAVY to a long-term recorded music and 360 management deal.

The signing will expand his reach in Asia as well as the US and other Western markets.

Tomomi Takeshima and MiMi Shimada will lead the new office.

They and their team will offer artist development, recorded music, management, promotion, brand partnerships, and cross-border collaboration.

Jonathan Serbin, CEO of Pacific Music Group: “JP THE WAVY has already established himself as a defining voice in Japanese hip hop, and we’re honored to help write the next chapter of his career. Our goal with PMG Japan is to give artists like him the infrastructure and global reach to compete on the world stage while staying true to what makes them unique. This is just the beginning.”

Takeshima and Shimada: “Launching PMG Japan brings together two perspectives we believe are essential to building something lasting in this market: a deep, hands-on understanding of Japan’s music industry and the artists within it, and an international vantage point shaped by years of working across borders in the global music business. That combination is what allows us to do more than simply send Japanese artists abroad or bring international opportunities into Japan — it lets us build both directions of that bridge at once, grounded in real relationships here in Japan and connected to Pacific Music Group’s global network.”

This article was written from a press release provided by PMG.

Pacific Music Group launches PMG Japan, expanding its Asian footprint with the flagship signing of Japanese hip-hop artist JP THE WAVY to a 360 deal.
"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[514

post-21085","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-deals-signings","cs-entry","cs-video-wrap
