The appointment accompanied a summit examining audience building and artist development in an era of algorithms.<\/p>\n<h2>Board appointment and re-elections<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Ellie Giles<\/strong> leaves the board after nine years, having completed her third and final term as a director. MMF Chief Executive <strong>Annabella Coldrick<\/strong> recognised her contribution and interviewed Ellis about his management experience, talent development and plans for the board.<\/p>\n<p>Ellis established Atlas Artists in <strong>2014<\/strong>. Its roster includes <strong>Celeste<\/strong> and <strong>Rachel Chinouriri<\/strong>, who is preparing to release her second album.<\/p>\n<p>The company works across artists and repertoire (A&amp;R), recording and artist development. In <strong>2021<\/strong>, it formed a joint venture with <strong>Warner Music<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>Parlophone Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Coldrick welcomed Ellis and described Atlas as an example of a management business operating across several disciplines. She also thanked Giles for her service and said she expected her to remain involved in MMF activities.<\/p>\n<p>Four directors were re-elected:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kerry Harvey Piper<\/strong>, Red Grape Music<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ray Black<\/strong>, Craft Management<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sumit Bothra<\/strong>, SB3 Management<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/dave-stewarts-rare-entity-names-vicky-dowdall-partner-business-development\/\">Vicky Dowdall<\/a><\/strong>, VDM Music<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Membership and professional development<\/h2>\n<p>Marking her tenth year as chief executive, Coldrick identified increased recognition of music managers\u2019 roles and responsibilities as the MMF\u2019s principal achievement since <strong>2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>She outlined its professional development work, including what the organisation describes as the world\u2019s first industry-recognised certification for managers and the new <strong>MMF Hyperdrive<\/strong> programme, developed with <strong>YouTube Music<\/strong> and <strong>Arts Council England<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Coldrick said membership had more than tripled from <strong>400 managers<\/strong> when she took the role. She also cited managers\u2019 <strong>\u00a3714 million<\/strong> contribution to the wider industry and the organisation\u2019s responsibility to help members develop their businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Reviewing its campaigning and advocacy, she pointed to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.officialcharts.com\/\">Official Charts Company<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s recent announcement of a Homegrown Chart, the <a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/featured-artists-coalition-increases-uk-touring-fund-by-140\/\">UK Artist Touring fund<\/a> and progress on tackling online ticket touting.<\/p>\n<h2>Audience building and catalogue development<\/h2>\n<p>Held before the annual general meeting (AGM) at <strong>10 Union Street<\/strong>, the Manager Summit brought together <strong>more than 120 guests<\/strong> for a day of panels, talks and presentations.<\/p>\n<p>Technology journalist <strong>Andrew Orlowski<\/strong> opened proceedings with a presentation on artificial intelligence (AI). A keynote interview followed, with <strong>Pophouse<\/strong>\u2019s Per Sundin and Jessica Koravos joining SB3 Management\u2019s Sumit Bothra.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion covered <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/abbavoyage.com\/\">ABBA Voyage<\/a><\/strong>, opportunities involving artists including <strong>KISS<\/strong> and <strong>Iron Maiden<\/strong>, and the use of events and experiences to renew interest in catalogues.<\/p>\n<p>Other speakers and contributors included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sarah Boorman and Kate Wyn Jones, Universal Music UK<\/li>\n<li>Leon Neville, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI)<\/li>\n<li>Nick Faber, Fabyl<\/li>\n<li>Tim Horrox, Build Hollywood<\/li>\n<li>Lawrence Montgomery, Rough Trade Retail<\/li>\n<li>Aaron Skates, Cantilever<\/li>\n<li>Maddy Smith, YouTube Music<\/li>\n<li>Kate Hutchinson, journalist and broadcaster<\/li>\n<li>Ibrahim Kamara<\/li>\n<li>Tabitha Thorlu-Bangura, curator and creative consultant<\/li>\n<li>Kate Helen, Autonomy Music Group<\/li>\n<li>Carlos Romero, Wildlife Entertainment<\/li>\n<li>Mark Walker, Free Focus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Summit Short presentations featured new MMF Associate Partners Ben Geyre of <strong>LISSEN<\/strong> and Anton Botes and Vange Kourentis of <strong>Fourth Wall<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees could also meet Associate Partners including AXS,
