The launch formalises its expansion into selling technology developed internally, building on existing agreements for products such as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/confidence.spotify.com\/\">Confidence<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The company described the expansion as an initial step toward \u201cbecoming the R&amp;D operating system,\u201d referring to research and development.<\/p>\n<h2>A single brand for software products<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Tyson Singer<\/strong>, senior vice president of technology and platform, said selling Spotify&#8217;s internally developed technology was an established activity. The change, he explained, was the identity under which those products would operate.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhat&#8217;s new is the identity,\u201d indicated Singer. \u201cSpotify Technology brings these tools and future products under one brand because they work best as one system, and because we&#8217;re doubling down on this rather than dabbling in it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Executives presented the launch as an outcome of internal product development and the broader growth of AI (artificial intelligence). They have also been emphasising AI&#8217;s role behind the scenes.<\/p>\n<h2>Portal and Confidence<\/h2>\n<p>The offerings address system management and software development decisions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.spotify.com\/\">Portal<\/a><\/strong> catalogues systems, governs ownership and manages the context needed for development.<\/li>\n<li>Spotify Confidence enables clients to run experiments, manage feature flags and use their data warehouse to inform development decisions. It uses a credit-based subscription model.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Singer said the company develops confidence in its products before making them available externally.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAnd so that gives us the confidence to go forward. And it gives me a lot of confidence that three years from today, I&#8217;m not really going to have very many regrets around what we&#8217;ve done and why we&#8217;ve done
