His judgment also requires restitution and a separate fine totaling <strong>$665,629.52<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Guilty plea and financial penalties<\/h2>\n<p>Welch, founder of <strong>Industry Management Group<\/strong>, pleaded guilty in <strong>December 2025<\/strong> after an initial indictment in early 2024. He was accused of defrauding <strong>Juice WRLD<\/strong> and others.<\/p>\n<p>The accusation described Welch as \u201cpurporting to manage their finances and instead embezzling the money for himself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The extent of the operation and the amount Welch should repay had been disputed. Seeking a lower amount, his lawyers argued that he had performed \u201cvaluable work for many clients\u201d and was entitled to compensation for legitimate services.<\/p>\n<p>The judgment sets a separate fine equal to the restitution amount. Welch is represented by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.federaldefendersny.org\/about-us\">Federal Defenders of New York<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Payment and release conditions<\/h2>\n<p>The judgment specifies the following payment terms and conditions for Welch&#8217;s <strong>three years of supervised release<\/strong>, which will follow his prison sentence:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An upfront lump-sum payment of <strong>$100<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Restitution \u201cpayable at 15 percent of gross monthly income.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>A requirement to provide his \u201cprobation officer with access to any requested financial information\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Permission to obtain new credit lines \u201cunless he is in compliance with the installment payment schedule\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Diddy<\/strong> is also serving a sentence at FCI Fort Dix.<\/p>\n<h2>Other music-industry criminal cases<\/h2>\n<p>Also on Tuesday, <strong>Michael Smith<\/strong> received an <strong>18-month prison sentence<\/strong> after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in a <a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/michael-smith-streaming-fraud-mffa-urges-prison\/\">streaming fraud case<\/a>. The charting artist must also forfeit <strong>more than $8 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate case, <strong>Hank Risan<\/strong> was charged last year with <strong>four counts of wire fraud<\/strong>. He is accused of taking investor funds through alleged misrepresentations about \u201chis purported music streaming service,\u201d <strong>BlueBeat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There have been no major developments in Risan&#8217;s case so far in 2026. A bail review hearing is scheduled for next week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pooh Shiesty<\/strong> and other defendants, including his father, are accused of kidnapping and robbing <strong>Gucci Mane<\/strong> and two other people in an alleged attempt to leave a record contract.
