One band’s agency said it had not even received an offer.

The event was promoted for Estadio Gigante de Arroyito, Rosario Central’s stadium, with a capacity of 48.000 people. The venue had not hosted a concert since Guns N’ Roses performed there in 2016.

The apparently newly established producer Underdog Entertainment backed the festival. Its poster also advertised involvement from Banco Macro and ticketing company Entrada Uno.

An exclusive presale for the bank’s customers was scheduled for 15 October. The bank, club and producer promoted the event on social media.

Questions emerged soon after the announcement. The proposed date fell during the Southern Hemisphere winter, while Red Hot Chili Peppers are recording a new album and have not performed publicly since early 2025.

Cosquín Rock producer José Palazzo shared the poster with the comment “completely false”. Happy Mondays manager Alan McGee told a journalist the news “is not true”.

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ official account then commented on the announcement: “Sorry, not us”.

Festival posts removed, bank withdraws

Following the denial, the producer and festival deleted all their posts. Underdog has not issued a statement.

Banco Macro distanced itself from the event, stating: “Banco Macro does not organise or sponsor Music Gol Festival or the advertised artists”.

The bank said its involvement was limited to presale benefits and financing through its cards, and that it had decided to withdraw the instalment offers.

Rosario Central prepares legal action

Rosario Central general manager Javier Solá said the club had signed a stadium rental contract and was not organising the show. Its legal department is handling the case.

“We are not the organisers; we simply grant them temporary use of the stadium,” Solá said.

Before the denial became public, Solá had demanded confirmation of the artists from the producer.

“Otherwise, the club will make a decision at midday because sales begin tomorrow and we do not want anyone to suffer any harm,” he said.

Solá said the producer had paid 50% of the agreed rental fee in advance, approximately 100.000 dollars, following several months of negotiations.

He added that the contract was signed with a company incorporated in Spain that has a commercial representative in Argentina. The company’s identity was not disclosed.

Music Gol Festival in Rosario unravelled within a day of its announcement after the agencies for all
