Warner Records Group<\/a><\/strong> has appointed Jim Roppo<\/strong> Vice Chairman, giving the former Republic Records chief responsibility for operations across the group\u2019s labels.<\/p>\n

Roppo will be based in Los Angeles and report to Aaron Bay-Schuck<\/strong>, the group\u2019s Chairman and CEO (chief executive officer).<\/p>\n

He moves to Warner after nearly three decades at Universal Music Group<\/a><\/strong>. His most recent position was Chairman and CEO of Republic Records<\/a><\/strong>, where his remit covered global strategy, operations and artist development.<\/p>\n

Before that, Roppo was President and COO (chief operating officer) of Republic Collective<\/strong>, an umbrella group whose imprints included Republic, Island<\/strong>, Def Jam<\/a><\/strong> and Mercury<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bay-Schuck said: \u201cEverything we do is rooted in artist development, and Jim has spent his career ensuring that creatives have the tools, resources, and support to reach their full potential.\u201d<\/p>\n

Roppo said: \u201cMy focus has always been on backing great music and helping teams win, and I look forward to bringing that to Warner.
