It is designed to help venues, promoters and talent buyers evaluate shows before committing to a lineup.<\/p>\n<h2>Booking and demand analysis<\/h2>\n<p>The platform combines streaming activity, <a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/music-tourism-and-new-audiences-drive-live-music-expansion\/\">regional audience trends<\/a>, ticketing and touring history, and venue metrics to assess potential demand. Users can forecast regional interest, model event profitability and track performance.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Its central assessment tool, the <strong>Brightlights Score (BLS)<\/strong>, measures artist and event compatibility. The platform consolidates information used to decide which artists to book, where to stage events and when to schedule them.<\/p>\n<p>Co-founder <strong>Dan Leitzell<\/strong> said his experience working with promoters and venues exposed gaps in the information available to talent buyers.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBrightlights gives talent buyers the resources needed to book acts intelligently and reinforce their decision-making without taking the human element out of the process.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Products and launch dates<\/h2>\n<p>Brightlights has scheduled two product releases:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>October 20:<\/strong> A free suite offering historical performance reviews, overall ticketing analytics and a profit and loss (P&amp;L) calculator.<\/li>\n<li><strong>November 2:<\/strong> The subscription-based Intro Tier, adding artist research and comparisons, artist suggestions, upcoming show tracking, per-show analytics, the Brightlights Score and its breakdowns, and a venue search tool.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The UK launch involves a select group of promoters from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.skiddle.com\/\">Skiddle<\/a><\/strong>, an independent ticketing and events platform.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duncan King<\/strong>, Skiddle\u2019s Head of Partnerships, said the tools would give promoters predictive insights to inform lineups and help reduce financial risk by matching artists with audiences.<\/p>\n<h2>Founders and leadership<\/h2>\n<p>Brightlights was founded by Leitzell, formerly vice president of Nightlife Partnerships at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dice.fm\/\">DICE<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong>Greg Pietroforte<\/strong>. Leitzell also has experience in talent buying and event production.<\/p>\n<p>Pietroforte is a second-time founder who built <strong>BuddyBand<\/strong> from inception through its <strong>2026 acquisition<\/strong>. He said Brightlights was developed to bring dispersed demand signals together so venues and promoters could assess bookings before committing to a lineup.<\/p>\n<p>The leadership team also includes co-founder <strong>Douglas Smith<\/strong>, formerly Global Director of Revenue Operations at DICE, and co-founder <strong>Taylor Hess<\/strong>, a former staff machine learning engineer at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meta.com\/\">Meta<\/a><\/strong> who previously built predictive financial models at <strong>Morningstar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Brightlights
