The same day, Warner appointed <strong>Jim Roppo<\/strong>, previously president and chief executive of Republic Records, to a senior role.<\/p>\n<h2>Departures across US and European labels<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Tunji Balogun<\/strong>, president and chief executive of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.defjam.com\/\">Def Jam Recordings<\/a><\/strong>, will leave at the end of the year. Other departures include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Nicole Wyskoarko<\/strong> and <strong>Sam Riback<\/strong>, who lead two artists and repertoire (A&amp;R) divisions at <strong>Interscope Geffen A&amp;M<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ben Mortimer<\/strong>, president of <strong>Polydor<\/strong> in the UK.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mark Crossingham<\/strong>, managing director of UMG Ireland.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ivo Sacchi<\/strong>, managing director for Switzerland and Austria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Hannah Neaves<\/strong>, president of UM Recordings UK, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/rebecca-allen-to-leave-universal-music-after-27-years\/\">Rebecca Allen<\/a><\/strong>, director of artists and strategy at UMG UK, will move into consultancy roles.<\/p>\n<p>UMG issued a general statement about the changes. A spokesperson said: \u201cOur continued success has been based on our ability to anticipate changes in the industry and act early.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhere we have made the difficult decision to eliminate certain roles, we are deeply grateful for the contributions of the people leaving us.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>New responsibilities across the group<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Tyler Arnold<\/strong> of Mercury and <strong>Jeffrey Remedios<\/strong> of Republic Collective are taking on leadership responsibilities at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.republicrecords.com\/\">Republic Records<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Island co-chief executives <strong>Imran Majid<\/strong> and <strong>Justin Eshak<\/strong> are expanding their remit across the East Coast labels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Laura Carter<\/strong>, <strong>Ramon Alvarez-Smikle<\/strong> and <strong>Michelle An<\/strong> are taking on greater responsibilities at Interscope Geffen A&amp;M.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ulf Zick<\/strong> will take responsibility for Switzerland and Austria, while <strong>Nick Younger<\/strong> will oversee Ireland. Details of some roles are expected in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<h2>Savings programme extends into 2027<\/h2>\n<p>Announced in February 2024 as a \u201cstrategic organisational redesign\u201d, the programme targeted annual savings of 250 million euros, approximately 271 million dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Chief financial officer <strong>Matt Ellis<\/strong> put savings achieved in 2025 at <strong>90 million euros<\/strong>. Further savings are expected as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>40 to 50 million euros more in 2026.<\/li>\n<li>A further 35 to 45 million euros taking effect in 2027, when the programme is expected to conclude.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The initial commitment was to achieve the full savings \u201cby the end of 2026\u201d. The latest departures follow staff reductions in recent weeks in divisions including Germany and Canada.<\/p>\n<h2>Jim Roppo joins Warner Records Group<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Warner Records Group<\/strong> has appointed Roppo vice chairman. He will oversee operations across all its labels and report to president and chief executive <strong>Aaron Bay-Schuck<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Roppo will be based in Los Angeles. His start date will be announced later.<\/p>\n<p>He leaves Universal after nearly three decades, initially at Island Def Jam and, from 2012, at Republic. He worked on campaigns for <strong>Taylor Swift<\/strong>, <strong>Ariana Grande<\/strong>, <strong>Drake<\/strong> and <strong>The Weeknd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cEverything we do is rooted in artist development, and Jim has dedicated his career to ensuring that creators have the tools, resources and support to reach their full potential,\u201d Bay-Schuck said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Warner Music Group confirmed Bay-Schuck as the label\u2019s sole leader in September, in the same reorganisation that appointed <strong>Andr\u00e9s Rothschild<\/strong> president of Warner Music Iberia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m delighted to join Warner Records at such an important moment,\u201d Roppo said.<\/p>\n<p>Universal has also recently promoted <strong>Frank
