{"id":21945,"date":"2026-10-12T15:42:02","date_gmt":"2026-10-12T15:42:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/?p=21945"},"modified":"2026-10-16T01:25:49","modified_gmt":"2026-10-16T01:25:49","slug":"splice-names-kate-guarente-smith-head-of-communications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/splice-names-kate-guarente-smith-head-of-communications\/","title":{"rendered":"Splice Names Kate Guarente-Smith Head of Communications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/splice.com\">Splice<\/a><\/strong> has appointed <strong>Kate Guarente-Smith<\/strong> Head of Communications, giving her responsibility for communications strategy across the music creation platform and its <a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/splice-and-decap-launch-exclusive-samples-label\/\">strategic partnerships with artists<\/a> and industry companies.<\/p>\n<p>Her remit covers the following parts of Splice\u2019s platform:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sounds<\/li>\n<li>INSTRUMENT<\/li>\n<li>Spitfire Audio<\/li>\n<li>Kits AI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Guarente-Smith joins from the software industry, where she helped establish communications functions and held early leadership positions at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\">GitHub<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/slack.com\">Slack<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At GitHub, she served as head of public relations. At Slack, she built and led communications for products, the platform and partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>Splice chief executive <strong>Kakul Srivastava<\/strong>, who previously worked with Guarente-Smith at GitHub, cited that experience in explaining the appointment.<\/p>\n<p>Srivastava said communicating with musicians was critical as Splice develops its <a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/splice-and-elevenlabs-partner-to-develop-new-ai-powered-tools\/\">use of AI (artificial intelligence) to support human creativity<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Guarente-Smith said her interest in Splice reflected her preference for companies that use technology to support creative work.
