{"id":22018,"date":"2026-10-16T03:37:12","date_gmt":"2026-10-16T03:37:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/?p=22018"},"modified":"2026-10-16T03:37:12","modified_gmt":"2026-10-16T03:37:12","slug":"mark-adams-reflects-on-six-years-of-blinding-talent-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/mark-adams-reflects-on-six-years-of-blinding-talent-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Mark Adams reflects on six years of Blinding Talent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Mark Adams<\/strong> says building <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/mark-adams-reflects-on-six-years-of-blinding-talent\/\">Blinding Talent<\/a><\/strong> into a sustainable independent management company is his biggest career achievement, six years after its 2020 launch during COVID.<\/p>\n<p>The manager, who has worked in management for <strong>19 years<\/strong>, identifies touring costs, competition for online attention and artificial intelligence (AI) as challenges shaping artists\u2019 careers.<\/p>\n<h2>From music television to management<\/h2>\n<p>Adams took on his <a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/mark-adams-on-28-years-from-music-tv-to-blinding-talent\/\">first management client<\/a> in <strong>2007<\/strong> while working as Head of Music at <strong>Kerrang! TV<\/strong>. Metal band <strong>Forever Never<\/strong> approached him, offering a route from programming into management.<\/p>\n<p>During his first year managing the band, he secured a support tour with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stonesour.com\/\">Stone Sour<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At Blinding Talent, his current independent artist roster includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>My Life As A Moth<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Catlea<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Sabina Beyli<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Honeybadger<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Molly Warburton<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>UCHAYE<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Building Blinding Talent<\/h2>\n<p>Adams founded the company as live music and touring activity came to a halt during the pandemic. He says it has overseen the careers of hundreds of artists over the following six years.<\/p>\n<p>Warburton was its first signing. Other milestones include Brighton indie band Honeybadger reaching <strong>one million organic streams<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>D3LTA<\/strong> has generated millions of streams and sold out shows across the UK and Greece, with a more recent performance at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/greatescapefestival.com\/\">The Great Escape<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For Adams, successful working days involve seeing a strategy produce results: an editorial placement affecting streams, content reaching audiences or advice helping an artist.<\/p>\n<p>He describes more difficult days as those dominated by immediate problems, leaving less time to develop and advance longer-term plans.<\/p>\n<h2>Touring costs, platforms and AI<\/h2>\n<p>Adams argues that artists need <a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/the-global-stage-is-growing-who-is-managing-the-career\/\">coordinated plans spanning social platforms, streaming and live performance<\/a>. Managing those activities separately, he says, makes it harder to compete for attention.<\/p>\n<p>He also points to rising travel, crew and promotion costs as pressures on independent and emerging artists. A sold-out show, he notes, does not by itself resolve the financial challenges of touring.<\/p>\n<p>Managers must assess whether a tour offers a viable opportunity to grow an artist\u2019s career or requires financial support from other activities, he says.<\/p>\n<p>Adams sees AI changing music discovery, marketing and creation. Blinding Talent\u2019s approach is to use it selectively while retaining human responsibility for artist relationships and strategic decisions.<\/p>\n<h2>Professional standards and listening habits<\/h2>\n<p>Adams completed his <strong>Music Managers Forum (MMF) Artist Manager Certification<\/strong> in <strong>2026<\/strong>. He says the process helped formalise the knowledge and standards behind sustainable management.<\/p>\n<p>He is also an MMF Certified Manager, recognising his professional knowledge and experience.
