Streams of the resulting versions will generate royalties for participating artists and original rights holders.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement covers participating artists and labels from Believe and <strong>TuneCore<\/strong>. The tool will use AI (artificial intelligence) to reinterpret existing songs through remixes and covers, rather than create entirely new works.<\/p>\n<h2>Paid access and royalties<\/h2>\n<p>Spotify plans to offer the tool as a paid add-on for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotify.com\/premium\/\">Spotify Premium<\/a><\/strong> subscribers. It is intended to provide revenue beyond participating artists\u2019 and songwriters\u2019 existing Spotify earnings.<\/p>\n<h2>Two stages of artist consent<\/h2>\n<p>Participation will be voluntary, following a <a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/believe-and-tunecore-artists-can-opt-into-spotify-ai-remix-tool\/\">two-step consent process administered by Believe and TuneCore<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Artists first decide whether to opt into consideration for AI-related programs.<\/li>\n<li>Those who opt in will then receive the Spotify partnership proposal and choose whether to participate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The process follows Believe\u2019s responsible AI principles, established in <strong>2023<\/strong>: consent, control, compensation and transparency.<\/p>\n<h2>Safeguards for AI music<\/h2>\n<p>Spotify is strengthening protections against spam, impersonation and deception. Its measures include excluding AI-generated spam from recommendations and giving artists greater control over content displayed on their profiles.<\/p>\n<p>Listeners can also see artists\u2019 disclosures of AI use on tracks. Spotify is developing further ways to make those disclosures easier to find and help listeners identify music associated with real artists.<\/p>\n<p>Believe supports these measures and wider efforts across the DSP (digital service provider) ecosystem to protect artists throughout their careers and maintain trust in music discovery.<\/p>\n<p>Believe is also expanding its existing generative AI
