Shoday’s appearance with Peruzzi and Zlatan on “INFERNO” has put his voice back in the release-week conversation. InterSpace Daily has already reported the single’s separate Apple Music and Spotify Nigeria milestones. The more interesting craft question is how Shoday built enough range to move into that collaboration without relying on one familiar version of his sound. His February album HYBRID offers a documented answer: different producers, recording settings and guest voices were chosen to serve different sides of one artist.<\/p>\n
That range was a stated aim, rather than a description added after the record came out. In Apple’s track-by-track album notes, Shoday said he wanted listeners to hear him across genres. He gave Guardian Music a similar account, describing HYBRID as a collection that could hold love, struggle and celebration. The credits on Qobuz then show the practical side of that plan. The 14-track album uses a rotating group of producers, while Shoday remains credited as a writer across the songs.<\/p>\n
Shoday told Apple that the team considered opening with “Halle” but chose “Glam and Fame” for its story. He described the eventual opener as unusually vulnerable. Guardian Music separately identified it as the album’s most personal song in his own account. Qobuz credits KTIZO Hoodini and Treajuree with production on the track. The choice tells a listener how to enter the album: through a statement about its author, before the record begins changing musical clothes.<\/p>\n
The next pair makes that change audible in the personnel. “Joy” credits Semzi as producer, while “Somebody” credits Niphkeys; both list PBEATZ in the mixing and mastering roles. Shoday told Apple that “Somebody” depicts the life he wants over an Afrobeats instrumental, and that he especially valued “Joy” because it did not sound like a typical Shoday song. That is a more precise creative brief than the vague promise of versatility: one producer is asked to frame aspiration, another to give a familiar subject a different musical shape.<\/p>\n
“Shoday Kilode” and “Casablanca” bring Jhay2unez into the production credits. In Apple’s notes, Shoday connected the first song to an ad-lib from “Hey Jago” and said he wanted a hook that would stamp his own name. He described “Casablanca” as important to the album’s story, even though he had considered cutting it. Qobuz’s listing also shows that “Casablanca” carries a 2024 phonogram year while HYBRID was released on February 6, 2026. That older recording was kept because it served the sequence, not simply because it was recent.<\/p>\n
The album’s guest list is not limited to one kind of pairing. FOLA shares “Paparazzi”; BhadBoi OML appears on “OBT”; Pozer joins “Figure 8”; Kizz Daniel features on “A1”; Olivetheboy shares “Screaming Beauty”; taves appears on “Bad and Boujee”; and Ayo Maff joins “Casablanca.” Qobuz lists each on the album, and Apple carries Shoday’s account of how several of those sessions happened. He said “Figure 8” was made when he met Pozer during a 2025 UK tour, while “A1” began as a completed Shoday song before Kizz Daniel returned a verse.<\/p>\n
Two other production credits show how far the record travels without losing its singer. Qobuz lists JAE5 on “Sober” and Pheelz on “Halle.” Shoday told Apple that he travelled to meet JAE5 and drew inspiration for “Sober” from the producer’s earlier work. He said “Halle” nearly became the album opener. Those are descriptions of decisions made during production, not proof that any one producer caused the album’s chart performance.<\/p>\n
“Paparazzi” provides the clearest measured result for this wider network. TurnTable’s Official Nigeria Top 100 report dated January 20, 2026 placed the Shoday and FOLA single at No. 1 in its second chart week. Qobuz credits SB with production, mixing and mastering. The chart establishes what happened to that song on TurnTable’s combined measure of Nigerian streaming and airplay. It cannot establish that the same arrangement will work for every collaboration, or that the album as a whole performed the same way.<\/p>\n
TurnTable interviewed Shoday’s manager Sodiq Olamide Tonade, known as Maybreed, in January. Maybreed said the team had worked together since 2023 and formalised their agreement in December 2024. He also said the January 2 release date for “Paparazzi” was a deliberate call. In a separate interview with Joey Akan, Shoday recalled being skeptical about that date before his manager persuaded him to try it. Together, those accounts put the hit in a working relationship, not a tale of an artist finding an algorithm by accident.<\/p>\n
Maybreed told TurnTable that TikTok was a deliberate part of their rollouts. Shoday gave Guardian Music a first-person account of making frequent promotional videos before he had the resources for conventional campaigns. Those comments explain the team’s approach, but they do not give a verified count of what any particular clip converted into streams. The dated TurnTable result is the measure available for “Paparazzi”; the social strategy remains the people involved’s account of their method.<\/p>\n
