The organisation also announced two newly elected Performer Directors and discussed opportunities for Scottish artists to reach international audiences.<\/p>\n<h2>Revenue and performer representation<\/h2>\n<p>Chief executive officer <strong>Peter Leathem OBE<\/strong> said revenue rose 4.75% from the previous year, supported by stable UK licensing and record international collections. International revenue increased 16% to \u00a394 million. PPL paid \u00a3127.5 million to more than 165,000 performers and recording rightsholders during 2025.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Roxanne de Bastion<\/strong> and <strong>Jackie Davidson MBE<\/strong> were elected Performer Directors. Opening the meeting at Fringe Central, PPL Chair <strong>Dr Richard James Burgess MBE<\/strong> reflected on his first year in the role and the importance of performer representation through the Performer Board and the main PPL Board.<\/p>\n<h2>Support for performers<\/h2>\n<p>Leathem also discussed <strong>PPL Giving<\/strong>, the organisation\u2019s \u00a31 million annual programme supporting talent development, opportunities and performer welfare across the UK. Its Scottish recipients include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.widedays.com\/\">Wide Days<\/a>, Drake Music Scotland and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benedettifoundation.org\/\">The Benedetti Foundation<\/a>, alongside activity linked to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bapam.org.uk\/\"><strong>BAPAM<\/strong><\/a> introduced StageFit, a free training app designed for performers. After the formal programme, members could speak with PPL staff at a helpdesk and in individual sessions.<\/p>\n<h2>Scottish talent and international audiences<\/h2>\n<p>A panel chaired by PPL Senior Industry Relations Manager <strong>Titania Altius<\/strong> examined how Scottish artists can develop their careers internationally. Speakers were Hamish Fingland, founder of Bounse MGMT; Chloe Rowlatt, PPL\u2019s head of international; and Kitt Carr, director of events at Wide Days.<\/p>\n<p>The day ended with performances by <strong>Zoe Graham<\/strong>, <strong>KuleeAngee<\/strong> and <strong>The Spook School<\/strong> at The Caves in Edinburgh\u2019s Old Town.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PPL
