M:E Entertainment and DAPO announced on November 5 that Black Coffee will headline THIS IS ME, a 12-hour electronic music event in Lagos on December 19, 2026. Resident Advisor’s event listing names the promoter, city, date and headliner; TurnTable Charts separately reported the announcement.

The booking matters to Nigeria’s live music business because the organizers are pitching a large Afrohouse event during Lagos’s crowded December season. Their stated plan is for an audience of around 5,000, but that is a target, not a ticket-sales figure. Whether the event reaches it will depend on details still to come, including the venue, full lineup and ticket offer.

Resident Advisor describes THIS IS ME as a 12-hour party with multiple stages and installations. Its listing carries December 19 and Lagos, while the venue is marked “TBA.” TurnTable describes the event as an electronic and Afrohouse programme and says the lineup, venue and ticketing details will be announced in the coming weeks. The two accounts agree on the headliner, organizers, date and planned duration.

The organizers have chosen “Mirror Mirror” as the event’s theme, according to Resident Advisor. HypeTribe’s November 5 account adds that the proposed programme runs from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and mentions a mirror maze, an infinity room, live art and a VIP area. Those features are plans described in advance. The venue and final production layout have not yet been made public, so there is no basis to assess what will actually be built.

M:E Entertainment has already promoted Rampa and Black Coffee events in Lagos, according to Resident Advisor. TurnTable also places Black Coffee’s earlier Lagos performance in April 2026. The new announcement therefore extends an existing promoter and artist relationship, while testing a longer format under the THIS IS ME name.

A proposed 5,000-person event also creates a different operational question from a smaller club date: the organizers will need a venue, staging and audience services that fit the plan they have announced. That is a practical implication of the proposed scale, not evidence that contracts have been signed or capacity secured. The public material does not disclose a venue, ticket price, sponsorship agreement or projected revenue.

The event adds a prominent electronic booking to Lagos’s December music calendar. It should not be read as proof of a market-wide shift toward Afrohouse; one announced show cannot establish genre share or demand across the city. The first measurable test will be the ticket release and the organizers’ disclosure of the site and remaining artists.

Prospective attendees and music businesses can watch for the venue, ticketing details and full lineup. Until those are published, the confirmed story is the December 19 booking and the organizers’ stated 12-hour plan. Any attendance figure remains an ambition rather than a result.

M:E Entertainment and DAPO have announced Black Coffee for a December 19 electronic music event in Lagos.
