Its executive summary is now available in six languages through WIN.<\/p>\n<h2>Financial and Market Reform Plans<\/h2>\n<p>IMPALA is assessing the financial needs of independent music companies across Europe, with a report on the findings due later this year. The organization is also preparing a new <a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/the-great-divergence-streamings-walled-gardens-and-live-musics-wild-west\/\">streaming reform plan<\/a> that will propose specific recommendations for digital services and for labels and distributors. The plan\u2019s objectives include growing the market through diversity, increasing revenue, combating fraud, establishing AI standards, and ensuring fair remuneration. IMPALA supports members that are exploring <a href=\"https:\/\/interspacemusic.com\/blog\/suno-cpo-details-platform-integrity-measures-amid-licensing-talks\/\">ethical AI licensing<\/a> through <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/merlinnetwork.org\">Merlin<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s licensing framework.<\/p>\n<h2>Digital Tools and Artist Showcase<\/h2>\n<p>IMPALA has released a series of strategic primers for members on maximizing opportunities with key digital services, led by Dan Waite and supported by Merlin, alongside a new series co-funded by the European Union. The annual <strong>100 Artists to Watch<\/strong> programme, now in its fifth year in partnership with <strong>YouTube<\/strong>, continues to highlight independent artists from more than 30 European countries. The programme\u2019s YouTube playlist features the selected acts.<\/p>\n<h2>Sustainability and Inclusion<\/h2>\n<p>IMPALA\u2019s Carbon Calculator, which helps labels measure and reduce their carbon footprint, has expanded its reach with support from <strong>Charlie Lexton<\/strong> and Merlin via the <strong>Weidenm\u00fcller Sustainability Fund<\/strong>, named in honour of <strong>Horst Weidenm\u00fcller<\/strong>, known for his work in digital, sustainability, and inclusion. A pilot was conducted with A2IM last year. Labels can also access the climate investment facility <strong>Murmur<\/strong> and new industry guidelines on reducing vinyl and digital emissions up to the point of delivery to DSPs (digital service providers), developed by the Music Climate Pact\u2019s digital working group, where IMPALA serves as co-chair.<\/p>\n<p>On equity, diversity and inclusion, IMPALA has introduced a self-assessment tool similar to the carbon calculator, offering personalized recommendations and online training. Survey results for the sector will be published. The initiative is part of the organization\u2019s 25th anniversary projects, including the <strong>Faces of the Independent Sector<\/strong> interview series. <strong>Andrea Lacroix<\/strong> of !K7 stated: \u201cWhat stands out is the freedom that independent ownership brings, being free to decide what\u2019s important in the interest of the artists who entrust us with their art.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Policy Advocacy<\/h2>\n<p>IMPALA is urging governments to develop a business plan for culture with specific targets and concrete action points, framing culture and diversity as societal, economic, and geopolitical priorities. The organization argues that joined-up policymaking on areas such as AI and digital markets will be more effective if positive aspects are emphasized and progress is tracked through such a
