Fred again..<\/strong><\/a> and LATIN MAFIA<\/strong><\/a> have released a new short film, under the fabric<\/em>, featuring previously unheard collaborative material.<\/p>\n

The 35-minute piece documents an impromptu live session recorded in Mexico City last December, during Fred again..’s USB002<\/strong> tour<\/a>. LATIN MAFIA, who are based in the city, also appeared on stage with him at his 11 December performance. The session was filmed beneath a fabric installation created by Dutch visual artist Boris Acket<\/strong>, and the film is now available on YouTube.<\/p>\n

“I really adore the things that naturally happen when me and LATIN MAFIA make stuff together. So right before the last show in Mexico City, we recorded this one take of some of the songs we [had] been working on under the fabric. The fabric in this context is maybe my favourite of any way we got to play with it.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The film continues the rollout of material from the USB002 tour, which included guest spots from Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter<\/strong>, The Streets<\/strong>, Underworld<\/strong>, and Nia Archives<\/strong>, among others. Earlier this summer, Fred again.. uploaded a 108-hour YouTube mix containing every set from the run. In January, he exhibited several tour installations in New York, among them the fabric canopy designed by Acket that was suspended above audiences at each show.<\/p>\n
