Barbara Cane 在 Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) 任职五十年后，将于年底从 vice president of worldwide creative 一职退休。

始于 1970 年的职业生涯
Cane 于 1970 年在读高中期间以兼职身份加入 BMI，此后的整个职业生涯都在这家公司度过。她最初在公司的 Song Research 部门任职。
她后来担任 BMI 洛杉矶办公室的 general manager，并曾在纽约、洛杉矶和伦敦担任 vice president of creative，负责统筹公司流行、摇滚和独立音乐团队的创作相关活动。
