Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has concluded its 30th-anniversary edition and confirmed that ADE 2027 will run October 20-24. This year’s five-day electronic music conference and festival featured nearly 4,000 performing artists across more than 300 venues, according to the organisers.
Programming highlights
ADE began in 1996. This year’s programme included a performance of Swan Lake Remixed for ADE at Gashouder with the Dutch National Ballet and ISH Dance Collective, which the organisers say sold out.
Other highlights included:
- A collaboration between Kybba and the Metropole Orkest at Melkweg
- The EINDER project by multidisciplinary artist Boris Acket with the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest at Centrale Markthal
Jean-Michel Jarre served as the event’s official Guest of Honour. He took part in a discussion on AI and spatial sound and performed an audiovisual live set at AFAS Live.
ADE Lab and the Nighttime Culture Index
ADE expanded its ADE Lab initiative into two tracks aimed at industry development.
It also partnered with VibeLab to launch the Nighttime Culture Index, a new report assessing nighttime culture activity. The report is based on data from more than 12,000 event lineups and 3,000 venues worldwide.
The organisers say further initiatives marking ADE’s 30th anniversary will be announced in the coming months.
