She:Music has launched the second edition of its She Artist and Sound Engineer Development Programme, with applications opening on 16 June 2026. The initiative will select a cohort of 10 emerging artists, musicians and aspiring sound engineers from Birmingham and the West Midlands.

The programme was established to address persistent challenges faced by women and gender-marginalised creatives, including limited access to opportunities, underrepresentation in technical and leadership roles, financial insecurity and a lack of professional support networks. Participants will receive mentoring, training, studio experience, networking opportunities and performance platforms aimed at fostering long-term career development.

She:Music stated that it particularly encourages applications from:

  • Women and gender-marginalised people of colour
  • Those from low-income backgrounds
  • Individuals facing systemic barriers to music industry participation
  • Applicants with a strong commitment to their creative or technical development

The programme is committed to creating safe and inclusive creative spaces, operating under safeguarding and equality policies throughout all activities. It promotes anti-discriminatory practice, accessibility, wellbeing and respectful collaboration.

Applications are currently open through the She application portal.
