Italian singer Gala made an unannounced appearance during Peggy Gou‘s headline set at the Old Royal Naval College in London on Sunday, 2 August, performing her 1996 dance anthem “Freed From Desire” alongside the DJ and producer.
The day party also featured sets from Prospa, MPH, Daisybelle, and Kelly Lee Owens.
Gou shared footage of the event on social media, writing: “London I’m still thinking about you and I will think about you for a very long time. Thanks everyone who came for the good vibes and all the artists.” She added, “Almost cried listening to that song live as finale and what an iconic venue!”
Gala also posted videos of the performance to her Instagram account, thanking Gou for the invitation to join her on stage.
Earlier this summer, Gou headlined a special Midnight Lobster Club party at [UNVRS] Ibiza, her first appearance at the club since its closing party last October. Her latest single, “Wo,man”, featuring Ayra Starr, was released in June via XL Recordings.
In 2024, Gala issued a re-recorded version of “Freed From Desire” through Ministry Of Sound and B1 Recordings.
