South African DJ and producer DJ Zinhle has released her self-titled EP, “ZINHLE”, after the project became the first by a solo South African female DJ to surpass 10 million streams on Spotify before its official launch.
Pre-Release Streaming Record
The eight-track EP crossed the 10 million stream threshold on Spotify prior to its release, driven by singles such as “Baba Yilwa,” “Ezothando,” and “Njengemali.” This marks the first time a solo South African female DJ has reached that milestone before an album or EP became available.

The project features contributions from Thobani White, FunkTone, DJ Lace, Msindo’listo, and Nayvee Womoyo. It blends Afro House, Afro Tech, and Gqom across its eight tracks:

Artist Statement
On release day, DJ Zinhle shared a message on Instagram describing the EP as a reflection of her current personal and professional journey. She said the project carries her heart, growth, life experiences, and the belief that leading with purpose creates lasting success. She also thanked supporters who had been with her from the beginning.
Zee Nation Fest
The release celebrations will continue on Sunday, 9 August, with Zee Nation Fest, held in honour of South Africa’s Women’s Day. The event will feature live performances of the new material, launch activities, ticket promotions, and an Era by DJ Zinhle hamper giveaway.
