Billiana, an Afrobeats singer and songwriter known for fusing contagious melodies with profound storytelling, has released his debut EP, Unsaid Feelings. The project examines deep-seated emotions that people often struggle to express, chronicling tales of love, desire, heartbreak, and healing.
On the Name Billiana
“Billiana is more than a stage name to me, it’s an identity I’ve grown into,” the artist said. “Over time, I wanted a name that felt distinct and memorable, but also one that could represent every side of my artistry. Today, when people hear Billiana, I want them to think of honest music, strong storytelling, and records that stay with them long after they’ve ended.”
The Birth of ‘Unsaid Feelings’
Music became personal for Billiana when he realized it was the easiest way to express thoughts and emotions that were difficult to put into conversations. “What started as curiosity gradually became purpose,” he explained. “The more I wrote and recorded, the more I understood that this wasn’t just a hobby, it was how I connected with people.”
That connection deepened through moments of recognition: people relating to his songs, messages from listeners who connected with his lyrics, and seeing strangers sing back words from his own experiences. Those moments convinced him to pursue music fully.
The EP’s title reflects its core theme. “Music gives me the freedom to express things I might not always say in everyday life,” Billiana said. “Some conversations are difficult to have, but songs create space for honesty without limitations. Unsaid Feelings is built around those emotions we often carry quietly, whether it’s love, pain, hope, or uncertainty.”
Creative Process
Rather than chasing trends, Billiana focused on telling real stories and capturing a range of emotions. “Every song represents a different perspective, but together they tell one complete story,” he said. Tracks like “Steadily Ready” and “Resonate” introduced different sides of his artistry, and the full EP expands that variety. “Unsaid Feelings explores a wider emotional range, and each song has its own identity while still fitting into the overall story. I wanted listeners to experience different moods without losing the thread that connects the project.”
His studio approach balances preparation with spontaneity. “I usually come into the studio with an idea or emotion I want to explore,” he noted. When creativity stalls, he steps away. “I don’t force creativity. When ideas aren’t flowing, I step away for a while and experience life.”
Looking Ahead
Billiana draws inspiration from artists who make timeless, emotionally honest music. While he has several collaborators in mind, his immediate focus is on the EP. “Right now, my focus is on giving this project the attention it deserves. Beyond the release, I want to perform these songs, connect with listeners in more cities, and continue building a catalogue that reflects my growth as an artist. Unsaid Feelings is an introduction, not the destination.”
