Spotify has named Joe Hadley as its new VP of Global Music Content and Partnerships, expanding his oversight to include the company’s Music Editorial and Music Partnerships teams.

Hadley previously served as Global Head of Music Partnerships and Audience. In the new role, he will manage Spotify’s relationships with artists, labels, and the wider music industry, reporting to Charlie Hellman, SVP and Global Head of Music.

Hadley’s earlier career included five years as a booking agent at The Windish Agency and a move to Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in 2016, where he became Global Co-Head of Hip-Hop and R&B. His clients included Beyoncé, A$AP Rocky, and Jorja Smith.

Spotify also named J.J. Italiano as Head of Editorial, with responsibility for Global Curation, North American Editorial, and overall editorial strategy.

Hellman said: “Editorial is a key part of bringing an essential human touch to Spotify. The team’s judgment and taste is what fans and artists rely on. Joe’s capable leadership will keep artist advocacy at the center of our work and bring even more impact to the programming we do.”
