Xelon has opened a London office as its UK and European hub and appointed new executives in Europe and North America, extending the Melbourne-based digital distributor‘s international operations.

London hub and European hires

Its new UK and European branch is located in Camden, London.

  • Jack Lawrenson, previously Editorial and Marketing Partnerships Manager at Believe, joins as Global Streaming Manager.
  • Darren Latimer, former General Manager at New State Entertainment, becomes UK/Europe Label Manager.
  • Gareth Davies, who previously led Kontor Records‘ international department and its affiliated publishing company Sheffield Communications, is Head of Global Business Development. He works primarily across Hamburg and Porto and is at the London hub regularly.

In addition, Xelon is working with Frankie Plato-Beale on the upcoming launch of All Bases Music, a full-service music supervision and licensing agency intended to expand the London hub’s services for label and artist clients.

US expansion

Giancarlo Cordasco has been appointed US Partnerships Manager. Working from New York, he will oversee US commercial partnerships, including DSP (digital service provider) relations and pitching to key DSP partners, and will lead US dance radio campaigns for labels including Central Station and Sweat It Out.

He previously served as Armada Music‘s Head of US Operations and Promotion.

Executive comment

Ashley Gay, Managing Director at Xelon, said:

“The UK is a priority market for Xelon, and opening the London office signals progression and commitment to embracing opportunities in the territory for clients, while maintaining our hands-on approach. Introducing Giancarlo in New York bolsters solid teams on both sides of the Atlantic, deepening Xelon’s global expertise that is collectively focused on our clients’ needs.”
