Universal Music Group (UMG) is entering the UK hotel market with UMusic Hotel Denmark Street, a music-led property set to open in London in Q4 2026.
The project is part of a wider partnership with Outernet London, the central London entertainment and media district. It marks UMG’s first UK hotel and second in Europe after UMusic Hotel Madrid, which opened in 2022.
Partnership scope
The hotel will be operated by UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle (UMHL). The agreement combines live music, nightlife, hospitality and immersive entertainment across the Denmark Street and Outernet district.
Under the partnership, UMHL will:
- Oversee programming and operations at The Lower Third, Outernet’s grassroots live music venue
- Lead new music-focused experiences across the Denmark Street district
- Develop food and beverage concepts and lounge spaces
Hospitality expansion
The venture extends UMG’s presence in hospitality, retail and immersive experiences. It follows the launch of UMusic Shops and planned developments including a UMusic Hotel & Beach Club in Tulum.
Jordi Solé, President, UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle, said:
“Denmark Street holds a special place in music history. For decades, it has been a place where artists found their voice, creativity flourished, and music culture took shape. We are incredibly proud to be part of its next chapter. Together with Outernet, we have the opportunity to honor that legacy by creating hospitality and cultural experiences that inspire discovery, support emerging artists, and ensure this remarkable destination continues to shape the future of music for generations to come.”
