Andrés Rothschild has been appointed president of Warner Music Iberia, succeeding Guillermo González, who moves to a regional leadership role after six years heading the Spanish and Portuguese business.
Both appointments form part of the recorded music leadership reorganisation that Warner Music Group announced on September 25.
Leadership changes in Iberia
González becomes president of Warner Music EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Warner credited him with growth in Iberia through an artist-focused model integrating live music and management businesses.
The company said that model strengthened its offering in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin markets.
The announcement confirmed Rothschild’s appointment but did not mention other executives at the subsidiary or specify when the changes would take effect.
Rothschild’s financial background
According to his LinkedIn profile, Rothschild moved to Madrid in January 2025 as vice president of Finance at Warner Music Iberia, following three years in the group’s financial planning and corporate development teams.
His background is in finance, management and corporate operations. In the financial year ending in September 2024, the subsidiary recorded revenue of 90,1 million euros and profit of 10,7 million.
His first major known transaction was the acquisition of 100% of Halley Records.
Wider Warner leadership reorganisation
The appointment coincides with the departure of Simon Robson, who will leave the company in December after almost 30 years. Robson has held the EMEA presidency of the recorded music division.
The wider changes include:
- Alejandro Duque becomes president of Warner Music International, adding Asia-Pacific and EMEA to his existing responsibility for Latin America.
- Val Blavatnik joins the executive team.
- Elliot Grainge takes the US presidency of ADA (Alternative Distribution Alliance).
- Aaron Bay-Schuck is confirmed as sole president and chief executive officer of Warner Records Group.
The changes also follow Yusim Aladro‘s promotion at Warner Music México.
Kyncl on the appointments
Robert Kyncl, chief executive officer of Warner Music Group, said the changes came in a year when the company had fulfilled its three strategic priorities.
“These senior management changes strengthen our top-tier leadership team with diverse skills to execute the next chapter of WMG’s growth.”
Kyncl named González among the “exceptional, dynamic and proven” leaders whose promotions, he said, would allow the company to “further expand their success”.
