ELEMENT EleéeH Releases Debut EP Genesis
Rwandan artist ELEMENT EleéeH has released his debut EP, Genesis. This release represents a significant milestone in his career, which has seen growing recognition both in Africa and internationally.
The six-track project, released through AFRICORI and Eleéesphere Music Worldwide, compiles previously released songs that have collectively achieved over 100 million streams, according to label data. The EP features the tracks ‘Kashe’, ‘FOU DE TOI’, ‘MiLELE’, ‘Tombé’, ‘MAASO’ and ‘AYAYAAH’.
The EP’s release is concurrent with ELEMENT EleéeH’s inclusion in Apple Music’s Up Next programme for East Africa, an initiative focused on highlighting emerging artists. The programme will include promotional support across Sub-Saharan African markets and placement on Apple Music’s African music page globally.
Genesis blends Afro-fusion with melodic songwriting, incorporating influences from Caribbean genres like zouk and kompa, as well as elements of Rwandan musical traditions. The artist has described this developing sound as Afro-Gako.
Recent singles ‘Tombé’ and ‘MAASO’ exemplify this approach, combining cross-cultural influences with contemporary African production techniques. These songs, and others on the EP, demonstrate a trend toward genre blending and emotionally driven lyrics.
The EP serves as both a compilation of the artist’s work to date and a starting point for future projects, reflecting a career that has developed through digital streaming and international audiences.
ELEMENT EleéeH’s increasing prominence aligns with a broader trend of African artists gaining international recognition through streaming and playlist support, expanding the continent’s musical influence.
The EP’s creation involved contributions from Qhawe Shoba, Lefa Kgotso, Mpumelelo Xaba and Sisi Nkabinde.
