Gig Booking Processes Lag Behind Other Industries
Despite broader technological advancements, the process of booking live music performances often remains inefficient and reliant on outdated methods.
One individual with over fifteen years of experience as both a performer and industry participant noted the disparity between modern convenience and the realities of gig booking. While consumers routinely utilize applications for tasks like ordering food, arranging transportation, and making travel reservations, securing musical acts frequently depends on personal networks, extensive correspondence, spreadsheets, and fragmented information.
Musicians often dedicate considerable time to administrative tasks beyond music creation, including management, sales, accounting, marketing, and organization. Marketing can be particularly challenging for artists relocating to new areas, potentially hindering career progression due to the loss of established professional connections, rather than a lack of skill or drive.
A new platform, ArtGoArt, was developed to address some of these issues. The intention was not to supplant existing industry relationships, but to reduce reliance on chaotic processes. The platform incorporates features such as shared calendars, direct messaging, booking management tools, financial protections, and moderation systems for both artists and clients.
Currently in Beta, ArtGoArt has attracted over 120 artists from across Europe, representing a range of experience levels. The platform is collecting data and feedback to inform future development. The goal is to create a more balanced ecosystem where artists at all stages of their careers can thrive, allowing them to dedicate more time to creative endeavors.
The platform was founded by Petr Klyuev, a musician, songwriter, and entrepreneur with fifteen years of experience performing as a solo artist and with the band LSP, across Europe.
Artists at all stages of their careers often face challenges beyond just the music itself.
Existing industry relationships can be crucial for navigating the complexities of the music business.
