Republic Collective and New York-based media and entertainment company ZIZA Inc. have entered a multi-year joint venture to launch ZIZA Records, a label focused on signing and developing South Asian diaspora artists with existing momentum in North America, the UK, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East.
The label will also pursue catalog opportunities through global distribution, sync licensing, and marketing. Additional initiatives include:
- Brand partnerships
- Live experiences
- Cross-market collaborations
ZIZA Inc. was founded by Shivam Malhotra, who is also CEO of Malsons, a prominent independent company in the South Asian music ecosystem that reports having generated over 10 billion streams.
Republic Collective President and CEO Jeffrey Remedios said: “This partnership reflects the continued global expansion of South Asian music. Shivam and the ZIZA team have built a strong foundation in the space, and we see an opportunity to grow that internationally together.”
Shivam Malhotra added: “REPUBLIC Collective represents the gold standard of modern music culture and global artist development. For us, this partnership is the beginning of a long-term movement to position South Asian music at the center of the global mainstream.”
