A free mobile app called Beatmatch PRO aims to help DJs sharpen their beatmatching skills through daily challenges, drawing comparisons to the popular word game Wordle.
Developed by Thomas Geoffrey Hobbs, the app presents users with two tracks and asks them to synchronize the tempos by ear. Each attempt is scored out of 100%. A daily challenge mode gives all players the same track pairing, while a free practice mode offers unlimited training with filters for genre, region, and format (such as edits or instrumentals). Users can track their progress and compare scores on leaderboards.
“I’m looking to keep the game free, fun and ever-changing,” Hobbs shared in the app’s description. “If you’d like your music featured or want to discuss a collaboration, please get in touch via the Beatmatch PRO Instagram, or send an email to [email protected].”
Beatmatch PRO is available for free on the App Store and Google Play.
Other recent music-tech releases include Dancefloor, an app for discovering local DJs and club nights that launched earlier this year on iOS and Android, as well as lazyrecords, an algorithm-free music discovery platform, and Dig This, a similar tool introduced in 2025 by DJ and producer Doris Saturday.
