Scooter Braun Steps Down from HYBE Board; Executive Moves Roundup

Scooter Braun has departed the board of HYBE, the company confirmed in its first-quarter 2026 report, though he will continue as an advisor. The change headlines a series of high-level executive moves across the music industry this week.

Executive Leadership

  • Scooter Braun left HYBE’s board but remains an advisor. He joined the board in 2021 when HYBE acquired his Ithaca Holdings, which included Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. Braun later served as CEO of HYBE America before stepping down from that role in 2025.
  • Logan Light has been named Chief of Staff to Warner Music Group CEO Robert Kyncl, based in New York. Light previously worked at Take-Two Interactive and Bain & Company, and holds an MBA from Chicago Booth and a JD from NYU.
  • Kevin Herring is stepping down as Co-President of Triple Tigers Records to become a strategic advisor, ahead of his planned retirement.

Label and A&R

  • Spinnin’ Records promoted Marco Pantuso to General Manager. Pantuso has spent over a decade at Warner Music and reports to Niels Walboomers. Frederick Pranger was elevated to global A&R after four years at the label.
  • Nils Wasko has been appointed Head of International Label Management at Frontiers Label Group, following 27 years at AFM Records.
  • Jacqui Harris joined the Superstruct Entertainment as Managing Director, after 18 years at AEG Presents UK.
  • Crossroads named Scott Wagner President/CEO and Jon Weisberger Chairman, following the death of founder Mickey Gamble.

Live Entertainment

  • Jonathan Shank has taken the newly created role of SVP of Global Programming at Live Nation, focusing on family entertainment and immersive live formats. He reports to Omar Al-Joulani and will continue as CEO of Terrapin Station Entertainment.
  • Brian Swanson joined Universal Attractions Agency’s rock and pop division, the second agent hire there this month.
  • Duncan Smith has joined booking agency ROAM as a senior agent, bringing artists including MJ Lenderman and Wednesday.

Technology and Services

  • Suno added two senior executives: Grace James as VP and Head of Artist Marketing and Editorial, with previous roles at Atlantic, Roc Nation, and TIDAL; and Christian Bowne as Head of Music Business Development, after 16 years at YouTube working on label partnerships.
  • Harmen Hemminga joined Merlin as VP of Business Development, moving from Downtown Music/FUGA.
