Sony Music Publishing (SMP) has elevated Ari Gelaw to Senior Vice President of Creative A&R (Artists and Repertoire), tasking her with leading the publisher’s US hip-hop and R&B team.
Gelaw joined SMP as Vice President of Creative A&R in 2022 and will remain based in Los Angeles, coordinating with the company’s New York and Atlanta offices. She reports to Katie Welle, President, Head of US A&R.
Since her arrival, Gelaw has signed a roster of artists and songwriters that includes:

- Monaleo
- Victoria Monet
- FLO
- Samara Cyn
- BBYKOBE
- J White
Before SMP, Gelaw held A&R positions at Universal Music Publishing Group and Atlantic Records.
