Sony Music has promoted Stephanie Yu to Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, and General Counsel, placing her in charge of the company’s worldwide business, legal, and governmental operations.
Yu reports to Rob Stringer, Chairman of Sony Music Group, and Kevin Kelleher, Chief Operating Officer of Sony Music. She succeeds Julie Swidler, who held the role for 18 years.
Previously, Yu served as Executive Vice President and US Lead of Business and Legal Affairs at Sony Music. Her career at the company also includes time in the legal department of Epic Records and cross-company work with Sony Music Publishing, Sony Electronics, Sony Mobile, and Sony Interactive Entertainment.
