Brian Chaplin has launched Amadé, a solo electronic music project, with the debut single “Hell or High Water.” The track features his duo Locnville and marks a move into melodic house and dance music.

A New Creative Direction

Chaplin, known as one half of Locnville, is using Amadé to explore a focused interest in melodic house. The project allows him to experiment with atmosphere, rhythm, and synth textures while drawing on years of production and performance experience.

Rather than a departure, Amadé represents an extension of his musical identity. The solo platform provides space to develop ideas that may not fit within the duo’s established sound.

The Debut Single

“Hell or High Water” pairs uplifting chord progressions with a driving rhythmic pulse and expressive synth lines. The track balances dancefloor energy with an emotional melodic structure, aiming for accessibility beyond club settings.

The involvement of Locnville connects the new project to Chaplin’s history, offering longtime fans a familiar entry point while presenting a fresh electronic interpretation of his abilities.

Vocal-Synth Interplay

Chaplin highlights the interaction between the vocal hook and synth melody as a key production element. The central melody first appears through the vocal and later returns via a synth line, creating continuity and reinforcing the arrangement.

He describes this call-and-response approach as a creative thread he intends to explore further, potentially becoming a recurring characteristic of Amadé’s future releases.

The launch of Amadé after years of international success with Locnville provides a platform for creative evolution. The project gives Chaplin the freedom to refine a sound tied directly to his personal passion for electronic music.
