Introducing Studio by Spotify Labs, a standalone desktop app designed to create audio shaped around you.
Studio by Spotify Labs understands your Spotify taste across music, podcasts, and audiobooks, while also drawing on world knowledge to help you find the audio you want faster. With your permission, it can take action on your behalf: researching topics, using a web browser, organizing information, and helping complete tasks. It can also connect to the tools you use every day, like your calendar, inbox, and notes.
Let’s say you want a Personal Podcast for an upcoming trip. Try asking: “Create a daily audio brief for my road trip through Italy. Walk me through my day using my calendar and bookings. Recommend a memorable dinner spot near where I’ll be. And end with a podcast recommendation I’d love for the drive.”
Studio by Spotify Labs can create a private daily briefing just for you, build a playlist for a long drive, or generate a short podcast on a topic you want to learn more about. It’s designed to be conversational, so you can refine your requests, adjust the vibe, or take things in a completely new direction whenever the mood strikes.
Studio by Spotify Labs is built for Spotify, which means what it creates doesn’t disappear into a file folder or another app. It can save directly to your Spotify Library, so the media made for you lives alongside the music, podcasts, and audiobooks you’re already listening to.
It’s also designed to move with you. Whether you’re winding down with music on your home speakers, playing a personal podcast during your commute, or catching up on a quick update in the evening, your listening stays seamless across devices.
Studio by Spotify Labs helps you personalize your listening across each moment, while keeping you in control. Because it’s powered by advanced AI, it can also make mistakes and it may act in unexpected ways. We encourage users to review requests and actions carefully and verify results before relying on them. As an early preview, some features and requests may not work perfectly yet, but we’ll continue to refine and improve the experience over time.
Studio by Spotify Labs is launching in the coming weeks as a Research Preview to select users in 20+ markets, ages 18 and over. With this launch, Spotify is no longer just responding to what you press play on. We’re becoming a service you can talk to, shape, and direct around your life.
