Fans buying tickets through Eventim USA can now support independent venues directly from their digital receipts. The ticketing company has partnered with the National Independent Venue Foundation (NIVF) to embed a donation option into every digital ticket receipt processed on its U.S. platform, allowing tax-deductible micro-donations that fund emergency relief, workforce development, and other programs for independent venues and promoters.
The initiative extends Eventim USA’s long-standing relationship with the independent venue community. The company was an early supporter of the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) and has previously contributed to the NIVF’s Emergency Relief Fund, which has distributed millions of dollars to venues, promoters, and festivals facing unexpected financial hardship.
Where the Funds Go
Donations raised through the receipt-based feature will support several NIVF core initiatives:
- Emergency Relief Fund: Direct aid for venues in crisis
- Venue Operations eXperience (VOX): A workforce development program
- Community initiatives: Efforts to strengthen independent live performance spaces nationwide
The model reflects a broader industry shift toward weaving charitable giving into the fan experience, creating ongoing support opportunities at the point of purchase rather than relying solely on periodic fundraising campaigns.
The National Independent Venue Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization founded to preserve and nurture the ecosystem of independent live performance venues and promoters throughout the United States. Through financial aid, safety-net programming, education, and workforce development, NIVF supports a transparent, competitive marketplace and a diverse, inclusive community of artists, fans, and industry workers.
