Warner Music Group has appointed Mateusz Smólka to the newly created role of managing director, Warner Music Eastern Europe.
Smólka will report to Simon Robson, President, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), Warner Music, and will be based in Warsaw.
Role and responsibilities
He will oversee operations across several Eastern European markets:
- Poland
- Czech Republic
- South Eastern Europe
- Ukraine
His remit includes strategic expansion and the development of full-service capabilities in talent development, distribution and strategic M&A (mergers and acquisitions).
Career background
Smólka joins Warner Music after eight years at Spotify, where he led Editorial and Artist & Label Partnerships teams across 10 Eastern European markets.
He began his career as a journalist before moving into advisory and leadership roles across the music industry.
