The first performers for Oskido's Big Day Out 2026 have been confirmed, with Liquideep, Mdu and Brothers of Peace (B.O.P) leading the initial lineup.
The festival takes place at Huddle Park in Linksfield, Johannesburg, on 28 November 2026. The opening announcement highlights artists whose work has been central to the evolution of South Africa's dance music culture.
B.O.P, the duo of Bruce 'Dope' Sebitlo and Oskido, will share the bill with Liquideep and Mdu. Their catalogues have spanned generations, dominating club sets, township celebrations, festivals and other social spaces for years.
Curated by veteran producer and DJ Oskido, the event will run two stages focused on house, kwaito, amapiano and hip-hop. Organisers said additional artists, performances and activities will be revealed ahead of the festival.
"Big Day Out has always been about celebrating the music that connects us all," Oskido said. "These are artists whose songs became part of our lives. They gave us classics that still fill dance floors today, and it's only fitting that we honour their contribution while bringing people together to create new memories as we do every year."
Further headliners and performances are expected to be announced, with the festival designed to pair established acts with artists from newer generations of South African music.
