Resolut and Visuals.fm won the two awards in Swimming with Narwhals, the 2026 startup pitch competition by Music Tectonics. Their products address royalty disputes and music visuals, respectively.
- Resolut, an automated platform built to resolve royalty conflicts at scale, received the Jury Award.
- Visuals.fm, which generates custom visuals and videos for music, won the Audience Choice award.
The competition was held during Music Tectonics’ eighth annual conference, which recorded its highest attendance to date. Founders, investors and executives gathered under the theme “The Rising Tide,” with programming focused on technology that expands value across the music industry.
Dmitri Vietze, founder of Music Tectonics, said the finalists showed how technology could address industry problems and support revenue, efficiency and creative capacity. Hipgnosis Artist Partnerships founder Merck Mercuriadis led a fireside discussion about music’s cultural and monetary value.
Other sessions covered gaps in royalty collection, practical artificial intelligence (AI) workflows, and revenue opportunities in gaming and virtual environments.
