Serato has launched Serato DJ for iOS for iPhone and iPad, bringing its desktop feature set to mobile devices with support for more than 120 external hardware devices. The launch accompanies the release of Serato 5.0, with users able to transfer their music libraries directly from that version to the app.
The app is available now through the App Store. Users with an active Serato suite can access the full version at no additional cost, while free and paid versions are available to users without the suite.
The interface provides a familiar layout across desktop and mobile. Features introduced in Serato 5.0 are also available in the iOS app:
- Lucid Beatgrids
- Open Streaming
- Cue Loops
- iOS Transfer
Users can connect subscriptions to services including Spotify, Beatport and SoundCloud to play music from those platforms within the app. It also includes real-time performance controls and effects.
DJ and producer Miss Milan said: “Inspiration is everywhere for me. When a mix hits me out of nowhere, now I can just pull out the app and hear if it actually works.”
