SMACK has promoted Marissa Loar to vice president of management. She will lead the Nashville-based company’s management division, including new talent signings and artist development.
Loar will shape long-term career plans, build teams to support artists and continue working with SMACK’s current management clients. SMACK also operates in music publishing and artist development.
Loar joined the company as an intern in 2016. She later worked as an artist management coordinator and a day-to-day manager for Walker Hayes, Kylie Morgan and Jenna Davis. Her work with Hayes included the period in which his viral, multi-Platinum hit Fancy Like broke through.
SMACK President Robert Carlton said the new role gives Loar authority to sign artists and grow the management division.
