SoundExchange Appoints Michele Page as General Counsel

SoundExchange has appointed Michele Page as general counsel to oversee its legal operations and advise its executive team.

SoundExchange announced the appointment of Michele Page as general counsel on June 25, 2026, placing her in charge of legal operations at the world’s largest neighboring rights collective.

Page joins the executive team as chief legal advisor, reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Huppe.

Legal responsibilities

Her remit covers the organization’s legal functions, including:

  • Regulatory issues
  • Enforcement programs
  • Rate proceedings
  • Corporate governance
  • Compliance

Experience across music and media

Page most recently served as vice president, legal at Peloton Interactive, leading a cross-functional team and working with business leaders on music, content strategy, copyright, royalties and rights management.

Previously, she was general counsel, media at Nielsen. As an executive team member, she led licensing, litigation, settlements and consent decree compliance.

She also served on the board of NCSolutions, a joint venture between Nielsen and Catalina that was subsequently acquired by Circana.

Her earlier legal positions included roles at Vevo, EMI Music Publishing, Sony Music Entertainment and law firm Pryor Cashman LLP.

Page holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Northwestern University and a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law.

SoundExchange’s royalty operations

SoundExchange has collected and distributed more than $13 billion in digital performance royalties on behalf of more than 800,000 music creators.

It is the only organization designated by the U.S. government to administer the Section 114 sound recording license.

It collects and distributes digital performance royalties from platforms including Pandora, SiriusXM, iHeartRadio and thousands of others.

Through its global partnership network, SoundExchange also collects and distributes all available international performance royalties.
