Spirit Music has added Los Angeles-based songwriter and producer Jason Vance Harris to its publishing roster. His credits include writing and production work with beabadoobee and Keni Titus.

The independent publisher’s roster also includes HARDY, Ojivolta, The Black Crowes, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, David Garcia, Ryan Beaver and Monty Criswell.

Touring and production credits

Managed by Big Family Music, Harris is 24 and has spent more than a decade developing his songwriting and production work. He started by touring with his first band, playing hundreds of shows.

At 14, he became the youngest performer to headline a stage at Jay-Z’s Made In America festival.

Over the past year, Harris has played guitar alongside beabadoobee while also writing and executive producing for her. His credits on her newly released album, Pylon, include:

  • The lead single “Sun Has Set.”
  • “All I Did Was Dream of You,” featuring The Marias.
  • “Nothing To Prove,” featuring Hayley Williams.

Harris also co-wrote and co-produced several tracks on Pylon with The 1975’s Matty Healy.

The album debuted at No. 1 on both the UK’s Official Albums Chart and Australia’s ARIA Albums Chart, and reached the top 10 on the US Top 200 albums chart.

His other executive production credits include Keni Titus’ debut project, mud on my superstars, and her song “juliet.” He has also produced singles for Role Model, Eli, Juliet Ivy, Emory, and The Army, The Navy.

Spirit Music and Harris on the signing

Lou Al-Chamaa, Spirit Music’s executive vice president of artists and repertoire (A&R), said:

“Jason is exactly the kind of songwriter and producer we love building with at Spirit. Insanely talented, endlessly curious, and collaborative with everyone in the room,”

“From the first conversation, it was clear he wasn’t just chasing hits; he was chasing great songs. We’re thrilled to have him on the team.”

Harris said:

“Having a team of people at Spirit with great taste and ideas has been a game changer, and I have felt so supported as a songwriter and producer,”
