Spotify has confirmed another round of subscription price increases in the United States, marking the platform’s second US hike in less than a year.
The new pricing, which will roll out over the next month, raises monthly fees across all major subscription tiers by $1 to $2, depending on the plan.
Updated US Pricing
- Individual Premium: increases from $11.99 to $12.99
- Duo (two-person): rises from $16.99 to $18.99
- Family: increases from $19.99 to $21.99
- Student: goes up from $5.99 to $6.99
Broader Context
The US is not alone in this latest adjustment. Estonia and Latvia will also see price increases, continuing Spotify’s broader global repricing strategy.
The company previously raised subscription prices in the UK and Switzerland last year. In the US specifically, this marks Spotify’s third price increase since July 2023, following earlier hikes in July 2023 and June 2024.

Spotify’s Position
In a statement, Spotify said the adjustments reflect the value of its service and its ongoing investment in the platform:
“Occasional updates to pricing across our markets reflect the value that Spotify delivers, enabling us to continue offering the best possible experience and benefit artists.”
As streaming platforms continue to balance profitability, licensing costs, and artist payouts, pricing adjustments are increasingly becoming a regular feature of the global subscription music economy.
