In a major step to further cement its role in the music industry, TikTok has introduced ‘Songwriter Features’, a set of innovative tools designed to help songwriters shine and receive proper recognition for their work on the platform.
With these new features, TikTok is giving songwriters the ability to register for a dedicated ‘Songwriter Account’. Once activated, this account will identify users as songwriters on their profile, adding a professional touch and increased visibility. A unique ‘Songwriter Tab’ will also be included, showcasing a curated selection of the songs they have written or co-written, a direct nod to their contributions behind the scenes.
Currently, the feature is in beta testing and is available only to a select group of publishing partners, including Warner Chappell Music, Kobalt Music, Reservoir Media, and Sentric Music.

This rollout is part of TikTok’s broader strategy to become an indispensable tool in the global music ecosystem, not just as a platform for viral hits, but as a meaningful space for artist development, music discovery, and now, songwriting recognition.
Over the past decade, TikTok has transformed into a key player in music discovery and promotion, often serving as the launchpad for breakout songs and artists. This latest move demonstrates TikTok’s commitment to deepening its relationship with the music-making community, offering new opportunities for songwriters to build their careers and get the credit they deserve.
As the feature continues to expand, more songwriters across the globe will soon have a new stage to showcase their genius.
