Three South African artists, Wouter Kellerman, a three-time Grammy Award-winning flautist; Daniel Baron, a producer with seven South African Music Awards (SAMA) nominations; and Cara Frew, a vocalist who has performed at Coachella, have released a collaborative single titled “Golden.” The track combines classical flute, modern pop production, and African musical elements, and its music video garnered more than 265,000 views within six days of release. It was also added to Apple Music’s Global Pop playlist.

Artist Contributions

Kellerman, who recently received South Africa’s Order of Ikhamanga in Gold, provides the flute melody that anchors the song. Baron, credited with over 30 number one hits, handled production and songwriting, layering Afro-inspired rhythms with pop structures and contributing vocals. Frew’s vocal performance shifts between soft and powerful delivery, carrying the song’s lyrical themes.

Track Structure and Theme

“Golden” opens with a sparse, intimate arrangement before building into a broad, anthemic chorus. The lyrics center on unity and love. The production blends minimalist world music textures with expansive pop soundscapes.
