Kickstarter has introduced the Kickstarter Culture Fund, a $1 million initiative that will directly back independent creators in music, arts, film, and fashion through contributions to their crowdfunding campaigns.

Financed entirely by the platform and open to applicants worldwide, the fund arrives as creators face tightening access to resources. Successful applicants will receive a direct pledge from Kickstarter to their campaign, along with promotional support across the company’s owned and operated channels.

To be eligible, a project must be live or in draft form with at least a main image and description. All campaigns must launch on or before December 31, 2026.

Everette Taylor, CEO of Kickstarter, said: “Creators across all industries, especially artists, musicians, filmmakers, and designers, are facing increasing challenges finding the resources and support they need to bring their ideas to life. The Kickstarter Culture Fund is our commitment to addressing that problem because when fewer ideas have the opportunity to break through, culture, the economy, and society all suffer. By putting resources directly behind the creators, we’re helping more ambitious ideas find the support they need to become reality. This is just the beginning.”
